we have just had our tax credits stopped without warning, and now realy in the s**t, I have more bills to pay each month than i have cash coming in, and im about to loose my car which will mean loosing my job and home oh and wife and kids!! some one out there must be able to help??

Why have you had them stopped?

My advice would be to speak to them about your circumstances and ask for help, there are companies out there that will help you with your debt, it lowers your credit rating but is worth it if you%26#039;re scared of losing your house.

Go onto the search engine and type in Martins money tips. Everything from budgeting to information on what you can claim is on there, it%26#039;s helped me out heaps and am now in a very stable financial position.

You have to get right onto it, cause the real world doesn%26#039;t give hand outs, they only tell you what they want you to know, like I was unaware if you are at college you can claim for education allowance. Good luck to you and your family, I hope I%26#039;ve helped.

Secondly, if you really are stuck then don%26#039;t depend on others. It doesn%26#039;t work. There are very few people out there who are just walking around looking to help people.

Thirdly, it is very difficult to help people as an individual often gets hurt when helping.

Fourthly, I have been up there with the best and down in the gutter and know that The Lord sent Angels to me (people)on several occasions to help me because I talked to him. He did not magic me out of the hole but gave me blades of grass to slowly get a grasp on to haul myself up again. Jesus loves you and will help if you talk to him sincerely.

Why can't the govt address a common need like small business?

Instead of infighting and touting issues that have little affect on most americans why can%26#039;t politicians address something common to all of us. Small business creates 90% of the jobs in America..it%26#039;s real, it%26#039;s tangible, it cross political boundaries.

Why isn%26#039;t there more help for small business in the form of tax credits (like walmart gets)? Isn%26#039;t there an easy way to provide a capital infusion for all small businesses based on their size...say $5000 per employee? Wouldn%26#039;t this make our economy stronger? You can also apply for a hardship fund until the bursary comes through.

We are receiving benefits at the moment and once i receive my bursary i have to let the job centre etc know about it to see if these are affected or not.

I know you are in for a tough time training while bringing up kids. A good place to look is the nurses union as they will give you good advice. I know I could never do anything like that as it does not look a great job, unappreciated assaulted underpaid, and lots of hard work, (totally the wrong way round, but that is how society seems to be!)

Also look at what I do it might help to make ends meet while you are improving society.

The bursary is rubbish, true, but if you have children you could be entitled to extra allowances. You wouldnt get working tax credit, as they consider you not to be working. They told me that if I worked for 16hrs a week whilst studying I could get WTC, but couldnt tell me where to find another 16 hours, with 37.5hrs a week clinical placements, coursework and 2 children. Most students nurses I work with do any agency shifts they can get (as a nursing auxiliary), but you need 6 months experience before agencies will take you on. From my own experience, I%26#039;d get experience first working full time as an auxiliary to find out if you like it, not everyone is prepared for 13 hours shifts, cleaning up incontinence, cleaning other peoples dentures and feet, the challanging behaviour you get from patients and relatives and the fact that you rarely hear thank you. You%26#039;ll find out how you would cope with working nights, weekends and christmas, not easy as a single parent, do you have good family support? But you will earn a lot more money as an auxiliary than you would get on a bursary and would have a better chance getting into uni with good clinical experience behind you. And, before you go near uni, buy a dictionary, %26#039;studant%26#039;? LOL!! But good luck, thats the route I took, and love it.

I have received a defence which claims the cause of the dampness was due to me being in breach of my tenancy agreement. My case is that the landlord; the members of the management and maintenance committees regularly breach their own rules and regulations, to the extent that they sought to rig the results of a raffle! Evidence of this was recorded surreptitiously, but is of high quality.

I think the recording would be admissible as far as it itself is concerned but I dont think that it is pertinent to the case at hand and is not the real issue here. Why would this be a valid defense. Just because they have broken the rules doesn%26#039;t mean that you breeching the agreement is OK. That would be like someone showing up for court with a recording of a police office speeding to get out of their speeding ticket that is not how it works. One person%26#039;s wrong actions does not justify anothers.

I think that for this particular case that the landlord%26#039;s lawyers can have the recording ruled inadmissible, not because that the recording in and of itself is no good, but because it has nothing to do with the mold issue which is what this case is about. So I dont think you have much of a chance of using their actions to justify yours.

Now on the other hand if you truly have a good recording showing your landlord %26quot;rigging%26quot; a raffle then that might just prompt them to cut a deal with you and settle out of court. Be careful with any %26quot;blackmail%26quot; issues though.

Tax credits are not the answer as they only encourage people not to earn enough. Once you get to a ce5rtain level of earning every extrta pound you earn is taken away from the tax credit. And once you go over a magic figure (not sure what it is) it all goes.

The tax allowance system needs to be addressed to allow people earning to keep more of what they earn instead of having 40% of it stolen by the tax system.

The problem with the tax credit system is that it is too complicated for both parties. Unfortunately it is the families that are suffering becasuse of the mistakes that are made. It needs to be scrapped and set-up again from scratch. I don%26#039;t know alot about the subject but it seems to me that the minimum wage does not cover the cost of living if the government don%26#039;t address this situation soon things are going to go **** up in a big way.

I very much doubt that you will go to prison. It will depend on many things but if you repay the money and it is your first offence you should be OK.

I would doubt very much you will go to prison! I use to work for a local authority prosecuting overpayment of benefits and in my experience, it is most likely that they will give you a compensation order to pay back the amount of the overpayment. You may get a probation order as well or perhaps have to do some community service, but I think it is more likely you will get a fine and a slap on the wrist.
