If you leave your partner, what rights/benefits would you be entitled to, to help u set up home else

i have 2 kids aged 4 months and 5 years. Is it easy to get a council house, or would i still have to go on a waiting list? What help is available to you if you don%26#039;t want to go back to work? I know about child maintenance, but what other benefits are out there? I already get child benefit %26amp; child tax credits. Just a theoretical question!!

I know you may dread the thought of having to %26quot;live with your parents%26quot; for a while. It%26#039;s not easy especially since you%26#039;ve been out from under the wings of your parents, but I know from first hand experience that it can be good for you more than you know. I got divorced over a year ago and had to move in with my grandparents until I was able to get back on my feet. It took some time, but I was able to buy a house of my own recently because of it.

I also know that the 1st year of a child%26#039;s life is the most important, so in staying with them that will benefit them very much.

You have to go with what you feel in your heart is right.

you leave him you need to foot your own bill

I don%26#039;t know what a council house is... Is that subsidized housing? You have to apply and get onto the waiting list. What help is available if you don%26#039;t WANT TO GO BACK TO WORK? If you are choosing not to, I would say NONE. You can%26#039;t expect to leave your marriage and then have the public support you - that%26#039;s lazy and shameful. If you%26#039;re leaving, you%26#039;d better be prepared to work your @ss off to support yourself and your kids. You aren%26#039;t looking for rights and/or benefits, you%26#039;re looking for a handout - it%26#039;s called welfare...

Looks like you get enough as it is. Don%26#039;t want to go back to work? This is sounding like the description of yet another sponger expecting the State to look after them no matter what. You had the kids, you pay their way-don%26#039;t ask me to.

I am sorry. My morals will not allow me to help you if you are unwilling to help yourself (work).

Get a damn job.

don%26#039;t worry about it do what you have to do, leave him and stay with your parents for a while. If you are not happy leave

In a similar situation, you can go to the council and declare yourself homeless but they will want a letter from your partner saying he has thrown you out. You could also get a private place, but you would need the deposit and first months rent then social will pay your rent. You will then get income support and child tax credits, think its about 鎷?40 per week if you have 2 children. They will also pay your rent and council tax etc. Good luck, hope things work out ok for you x
