Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

we have just had our tax credits stopped without warning, and now realy in the s**t, I have more bills to pay each month than i have cash coming in, and im about to loose my car which will mean loosing my job and home oh and wife and kids!! some one out there must be able to help??

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Try having a clear out %26amp; sell on car boots, thats what i%26#039;m doing to make ends meet. (you%26#039;ll find neighbours give you their old stuff to get rid of too) :-)

If anyone is in a giving mood i could use some extra cash too.

;-)

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

nice try

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Try the lottery, you never know!

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

That%26#039;s why we love capitalism, Sink or Swim.

Most people sink in the end.

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Why don%26#039;t you do a grage sale. you can sell junks from your home. You will gain cash in minutes if you continue to success.

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Who cares!. I hear cardboard boxes are very comfortable this time of year to live in!

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Why have you had them stopped?

My advice would be to speak to them about your circumstances and ask for help, there are companies out there that will help you with your debt, it lowers your credit rating but is worth it if you%26#039;re scared of losing your house.

Go onto the search engine and type in Martins money tips. Everything from budgeting to information on what you can claim is on there, it%26#039;s helped me out heaps and am now in a very stable financial position.

You have to get right onto it, cause the real world doesn%26#039;t give hand outs, they only tell you what they want you to know, like I was unaware if you are at college you can claim for education allowance. Good luck to you and your family, I hope I%26#039;ve helped.

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Yeah, if you get someone to give me 20,000 then I shall give you 10,000 of it. It%26#039;s a deal.

Secondly, if you really are stuck then don%26#039;t depend on others. It doesn%26#039;t work. There are very few people out there who are just walking around looking to help people.

Thirdly, it is very difficult to help people as an individual often gets hurt when helping.

Fourthly, I have been up there with the best and down in the gutter and know that The Lord sent Angels to me (people)on several occasions to help me because I talked to him. He did not magic me out of the hole but gave me blades of grass to slowly get a grasp on to haul myself up again. Jesus loves you and will help if you talk to him sincerely.

If you really are down then consider why? Don%26#039;t blame other%26#039;s, and then decide what YOU can do about it. If you are pulling the wool over peoples eyes then be ashamed of yourself. When I was down it was because I had turned away from the Lord and was punished. It really hurt.

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Maybe you could trade your PC for spelling and grammar lessons.

Can anyone out there give me ten thousand pounds, me and family are broke!!?

Why can't the govt address a common need like small business?

Instead of infighting and touting issues that have little affect on most americans why can%26#039;t politicians address something common to all of us. Small business creates 90% of the jobs in America..it%26#039;s real, it%26#039;s tangible, it cross political boundaries.

Why isn%26#039;t there more help for small business in the form of tax credits (like walmart gets)? Isn%26#039;t there an easy way to provide a capital infusion for all small businesses based on their size...say $5000 per employee? Wouldn%26#039;t this make our economy stronger? These are the people creating jobs and making capitalism work.

Why can%26#039;t the govt address a common need like small business?

Small business is not the big time contributors like the Oil, Pharmaceutical, and Insurance industries. You gotta be a sugar daddy to get respect from this administration

Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

I%26#039;m a single parent looking to train as a nurse. I know about the bursary but is it enough to live on? Will I be elegible for housing benifets, tax credits etc? Thanks in advance for all advice. 閳?br>Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

You can also apply for a hardship fund until the bursary comes through.

We are receiving benefits at the moment and once i receive my bursary i have to let the job centre etc know about it to see if these are affected or not.

Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

The best thing to do is contact the CAB or local benefits office for advice.

Good for you wanting to train to be a nurse, its not a job I could do.

Hope it goes well.

xx

Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

I don%26#039;t know much about this topic but you can read this articles about career with titles %26quot;Manage your finance%26quot;. I hope it can help you.

Below is the site address.

Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

I know you are in for a tough time training while bringing up kids. A good place to look is the nurses union as they will give you good advice. I know I could never do anything like that as it does not look a great job, unappreciated assaulted underpaid, and lots of hard work, (totally the wrong way round, but that is how society seems to be!)

Also look at what I do it might help to make ends meet while you are improving society.

Studant nurses in U.K. How do you cope financially?

The bursary is rubbish, true, but if you have children you could be entitled to extra allowances. You wouldnt get working tax credit, as they consider you not to be working. They told me that if I worked for 16hrs a week whilst studying I could get WTC, but couldnt tell me where to find another 16 hours, with 37.5hrs a week clinical placements, coursework and 2 children. Most students nurses I work with do any agency shifts they can get (as a nursing auxiliary), but you need 6 months experience before agencies will take you on. From my own experience, I%26#039;d get experience first working full time as an auxiliary to find out if you like it, not everyone is prepared for 13 hours shifts, cleaning up incontinence, cleaning other peoples dentures and feet, the challanging behaviour you get from patients and relatives and the fact that you rarely hear thank you. You%26#039;ll find out how you would cope with working nights, weekends and christmas, not easy as a single parent, do you have good family support? But you will earn a lot more money as an auxiliary than you would get on a bursary and would have a better chance getting into uni with good clinical experience behind you. And, before you go near uni, buy a dictionary, %26#039;studant%26#039;? LOL!! But good luck, thats the route I took, and love it.

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

I am a tenant of a social landlord and become embroiled in litigation over an issue of damp and mould damage to my property. I have received a defence which claims the cause of the dampness was due to me being in breach of my tenancy agreement. My case is that the landlord; the members of the management and maintenance committees regularly breach their own rules and regulations, to the extent that they sought to rig the results of a raffle! Evidence of this was recorded surreptitiously, but is of high quality.

I have informed my landlords legal representatives of the existence of this recording.

Can this be entered as evidence in a fast track claim in the district court? What is the correct process?

Would it be ethical for the landlords lawyers to ban the use of this in court?

Must I submit a copy of the recording to the lawyers and the court before the hearing?

I am eligible for working tax credits, can I get any legal advice? Where? CAB is not very helpful

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

Assuming the recording was not obtained illegally, as in against a statute against recording someone without their knowledge, the recording MAY be admissable if it is properly authenticated before being admitted into evidence. That means the person who recorded the conversation must testify that they recorded it, that recording presented in Court is in fact the same recording, and that it is an accurate representation of the conversation recorded.

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

You can only use a recording as evidence if the other party is aware they are being recorded.

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

I saw someone on daytime court TV play a cellphone recording as evidence, so certainly the format is acceptable.

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

I think the recording would be admissible as far as it itself is concerned but I dont think that it is pertinent to the case at hand and is not the real issue here. Why would this be a valid defense. Just because they have broken the rules doesn%26#039;t mean that you breeching the agreement is OK. That would be like someone showing up for court with a recording of a police office speeding to get out of their speeding ticket that is not how it works. One person%26#039;s wrong actions does not justify anothers.

I think that for this particular case that the landlord%26#039;s lawyers can have the recording ruled inadmissible, not because that the recording in and of itself is no good, but because it has nothing to do with the mold issue which is what this case is about. So I dont think you have much of a chance of using their actions to justify yours.

Now on the other hand if you truly have a good recording showing your landlord %26quot;rigging%26quot; a raffle then that might just prompt them to cut a deal with you and settle out of court. Be careful with any %26quot;blackmail%26quot; issues though.

Is a recording on a mobile phone admissable as evidence?

It would be admissible as evidence if it were relevant to the case, which it probably isn%26#039;t.

On a side note, your argument that the management regularly breached their own rules and regulations is ridiculous and is probably not going to hold up in court. Your lawyer is taking you for a ride on a hopeless case.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Are tax credits the answer?

Or what about more training placements, grants for young families to pay training fees and set themselves up in business so that they can support their children by earning a fair wage?

Affordable childcare? More Social Housing to take the pressure of people feeling they have to commit to a mortgage? Assisted homebuying?

I really feel that not enough is done to help young families in the UK today.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Why is it the UK Gov%26#039;s job to support young families?

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Theres enough support!! Plenty of jobs out there and plenty of benefits to be claiming!! Itd also be better if Scotland became Independent!! OOOH!! I cannae wait for the day man!!

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

I get some tax credits. Don%26#039;t actually deserve them, but they are universal so I take them. So they collect some tax off me, play around with it paying for some civil servants an let me have some back. Where%26#039;s the value in that?

Much better to up the personal allowance from the measly 鎷?00 a week it is. That would help the lower paid immediately.

And how about making the personal allowance transferable between married couples, instead of it being wasted as soon as one of the parents stop work (if they choose to).

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Why cant young people make there own way in life.. why do they have children if they can not afford to bring them up ?

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

That is exactly what they have been trying to do .

They exist to work in the interests of the under privileged.

The Tories work in the interest s of the privileged and do all

they can to perpetuate the privilege of their class

They try to undo all the benefits that Labour has worked for

over all the years. That is what Thatcher did with her govt.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

we really need help in housing certainly in my area south Devon, with so many immigrants (4million i heard) we need so many more houses built throughout the UK. Its OK for those watching their house prices rise but we have 0% of buying one ourselves now

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Tax credits are not the answer as they only encourage people not to earn enough. Once you get to a ce5rtain level of earning every extrta pound you earn is taken away from the tax credit. And once you go over a magic figure (not sure what it is) it all goes.

The tax allowance system needs to be addressed to allow people earning to keep more of what they earn instead of having 40% of it stolen by the tax system.

Tax breaks for child care would also help

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

compulsory contraception unless you can prove you can support your own children

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

What about bringing back mortgage relief through taxes, and why not pay woman a good wage for having and bringing up children after all we are talking about this countries future lets see some realistic help for the youngsters instead of chopping their legs off.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

How about not becoming a young family until YOU can financially support them on your own.Don%26#039;t expect the state ie other taxpayers , to support you. Take responsibility.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Why is it when you can`t keep up with the Joneses you want a hand out, there is always someone worse of than you so think about those people and you will feel rich.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

send them to australia like they did yonder years ago..

on a serious note,

its only britain, howard and bushie that spends money to export its army into irak while the rest of europe and the world is busy making tons of money in exports and businesses....

that created fear and distrust and hate and obviously the rest of the world traded with china, russia, japan,

how much has tony blair spent on irak invasion?

who foots the bill now?

wheres the money to pay the bill coming from???

it couldve paid for a lot of miseries that the british public is having to endure now and years to come...

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Spoken like a true brit %26quot;can someone take care of me,you must help me,it%26#039;s hard for us,I think you should do more for us%26quot;

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

The problem with the tax credit system is that it is too complicated for both parties. Unfortunately it is the families that are suffering becasuse of the mistakes that are made. It needs to be scrapped and set-up again from scratch. I don%26#039;t know alot about the subject but it seems to me that the minimum wage does not cover the cost of living if the government don%26#039;t address this situation soon things are going to go **** up in a big way.

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

Training placements? I%26#039;ve just retrained at my own expense!

Social housing? Got 2 years left on the mortgage that we%26#039;ve been paying all our lives together!

You chose to have these children and be a young family. We hear about the %26#039;nanny state%26#039; all the time and because people get themselves into situations they expect the rest of us to help them out of, the state feel they have the right to make decisions for us all.

Even tax credits not good enough? most countries in the world do not have these or any form of social security.

Get a grip, get a job and stop living off me!

What can the UK Government do to better support young families trying to make their way?

stop giving all our money and resources to immigrants that haven%26#039;t paid their way in our country.

Jzd can you help me with advice?

i am facing prosecution in the uk for overclaiming working tax credits by not notifying of a change in circumstances ie my partner living with me, what do you think the likely outcome will be in court, i am 31 have a responsible job, a child, never been in trouble in my life and am not a dishonest person. i am able to repay the money back to the inland revenue as in full time employment. Will i go to prison???

Jzd can you help me with advice?

I very much doubt that you will go to prison. It will depend on many things but if you repay the money and it is your first offence you should be OK.

See a solicitor for advice ( the first 30Min%26#039;s is usually free)

They deal with lots of cases and can usually predict the out come of a case before it goes to court !!!!

Jzd can you help me with advice?

I would doubt very much you will go to prison! I use to work for a local authority prosecuting overpayment of benefits and in my experience, it is most likely that they will give you a compensation order to pay back the amount of the overpayment. You may get a probation order as well or perhaps have to do some community service, but I think it is more likely you will get a fine and a slap on the wrist.

How can I keep better tax records this year?

I%26#039;m single, self-employed, doubtful and scared of audit if I claim a home office, travel a lot for work (car, plane, hotels), have to eat on the road a lot, but usually alone, have a 401(k), member of professional associations, medium credit card debt, minor bits of work equipment, moving from Los Angeles to New York this year.

I welcome general hints but especially interested in links to more complete resources.

How can I keep better tax records this year?

If you don%26#039;t want to spring for software you can use excel to keep track of expenses and revenues. A home office does not have to be separate. You basically take the percentage of square feet you use of your home as your office and that percentage is what you will use to calculate how much of your electric bill, rent or mortgage, telephone, internet access, and other home expenses you can deduct for you business. You need to keep mileage records as well as any receipts while traveling. Any money that is spent on your business needs to be kept in some form. You can also deduct for your vehicle, depreciation on equipment, and moving expenses. Just keep everything that pertains to your business and I would take it to a credible CPA or someone with an Accounting degree and they know how to interpret the IRS code. I would do this especially if your business is growing and actually making money and if you expect to hire more employees. This way you will have a business relationship with an accountant that can help you with payroll as well. Good luck

How can I keep better tax records this year?

Depending on what tools you already have the biggest thing I would recommend is keeping track of your receipts. Go to Walmart and buy a file filder that is portable, fexible and allows you to sort by expenses. I would also recommend using software like Quicken or Microsoft Money so you can really track things. It%26#039;s isn%26#039;t hard to do, and I think once you get into the habit you%26#039;ll find it takes very little effort.

How can I keep better tax records this year?

I suggest that you use either Quicken or Quickbooks. Quicken can be used for business and personal finances, Quickbooks is generally just for business.

I would suggest also that you keep as many receipt es as possible. You should work with a good CPA to get you set-up for what you will need to keep track of for you business as well as your personal tax items. Your business account should be separate from your personal accounts.

If you spent money to earn money deduct it. I would not worry about an audit unless you are always losing money. An audit is concerned with your having reported your receipts and expenses properly, it is not an evaluation of how efficient you run your business. The travel and meals needs to be receipted as much as possible, you need to show who, what, when, where and why the expense was incurred.

Since you are moving I would keep track of the items you have while in CA and the items you have while in NY. You will need this in order to prepare the two state returns. Moving expenses go to the state you are moving to not the state you are moving from.

Good Luck.

How can I keep better tax records this year?

i have a daycare in my home and i am able to claim 1/3 of my rent on my taxes so you might want to look into that when the time comes, keep all your receipts even co-payments for docs visits, everything.

How can I keep better tax records this year?

Put your checking and credit cards on Quicken or MS Money and save your receipts.

Please can anyone advise me on child support and incapcity benefit????

What would happen if I claimed child maintenance for my child, would it be deducted from my incap. At the moment I get child tax credits, child benefit and my incap till I%26#039;m well enough to return to work?

Please can anyone advise me on child support and incapcity benefit????

go to your tax person and ask. The best way to find this answer is to consult a professional.

Please can anyone advise me on child support and incapcity benefit????

That does not sound like a US tax question. There is no %26quot;incapacity benefit%26quot; or %26quot;child benefit%26quot; in the US. Sounds more like a UK question but that%26#039;s just a guess.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

NE OF US THREE WOMEN IS STILL SINGLE AT THE AGE OF 35

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/ar...

%26quot;One in three women is unmarried at 35, official figures show. In 2000, only a quarter were not married. And in 1990, just one in ten was in this position.%26quot;

%26quot;Marriage began to experience a decline in the 1980s, but in the last decade its popularity has fallen more sharply.%26quot;

%26quot;The downward trend corresponds with an increase in:

* women following careers [ ?? ]

* the rising cost of buying a home [ Competition with two wages - ?? ]

* The cost of having a family also seems to have had an effect, as parents struggle to afford childcare and a mortgage. [ Two people must work to pay it - ?? ]

* Analysts believe the introduction of tax credits to the benefit system since 1999 has dissuaded many from marrying, as they favour single mothers. [ Single mothers.. ?? ]

What%26#039;s the reason?

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Besides the fact that many %26quot;social theories%26quot; have interacted with society and viewpoints alongside developed industry and medicine to result in the increased importance and value of the individual (or simply the ME ME ME in everyone) as well as decrying marriage as an oppressive and destructive hold of bondage?

Not much.

By the way, what do you all think of that run-on sentence? If I%26#039;m not mistaken, it%26#039;s one of the finest I%26#039;ve ever written (typed).

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

It is one in two in the states. One in two American women are single.

To answer your question ... People stay single because they see so much negativity about family and marriage, in the media, on the streets, in their families ... I don%26#039;t see a universal, positive and inspiring message about family life on TV. When I do, it is some hypocrisy about %26quot;good%26quot; family ways, vs. %26quot;Bad%26quot;.

I mean you watch talk shows in the afternoon and all you see is people talking about their tense and draining family situation.

I am 33 yrs. old and still single. I am very aware of the 50 percent divorce rate in this country (for people%26#039;s first marriage) and I don%26#039;t want to hassle with it. I was brought up to think of marriage as a lifetime thing, and when I see that it can so easily dissolve, and accumulate legal debts, alienate kids ....

I stay single. I know I won%26#039;t be single forever. But I know that when I do marry it will last.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

I think financial independence for women has made the prospect of marriage seem suffocating. Although I don%26#039;t live in the UK, I am 39, educated, financially secure and very happy being single. The thought of marriage frightens me to death. In fact, I view it as the %26#039;death%26#039; of me. For ever and ever until death do us part? That was fine when the life expectancy was less than 50. It is intimidating when the life expectancy is closing in on 100!!! I just don%26#039;t think that marriage is all that it is cracked up to be.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

They have chosen their independance and have no intention of having a mysoginist man, because there are a lot of unsavoury mysoginist males out there, lead them down the garden path then disappear with all of the financial assets.

I would certainly never marry again. I have far to much to lose and there are some misogynist men who can%26#039;t wait to get their hands on your wallet then they disappear. Or they try and get you pregnant so they think you will marry them then trap you into anti feminist servitude until they take all your money and leave you penniless with children to raise and not a shilling coming from them.. Geesh I am beginning to sound like cassius in reverse with all these baseless generalizations and no proof to back it up.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Men and Women are just waiting until later in life to marry... Especially the well educated...

http://www.opinionjournal.com/taste/?id=...

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

They haven%26#039;t found the time to find the right man because of the time to build up their career.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Zealous feminism that still exists and should not, it has gone well beyond the state of equality. This leads to abusive women that have zero understanding of what feminism actually is, thus, necessitating the emergence of female chauvinism.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Because marriage means death? Just a thought.

The pressure to marry isn%26#039;t so evident anymore. If they hold off for the right man, and choose to live single rather than just marrying %26quot;just anyone%26quot; anymore, it would seem more likely.

In the past, women HAD TO marry, to stay alive, or rather for livelihood... These days, it%26#039;s a choice. She is independent and self-sufficient... She can choose. :-)

Sadly, many people still see it as a sort of %26quot;disease%26quot; for anyone to stay single. Why not just let those that are single enjoy their singleness. Perhaps they don%26#039;t want to get married... yet. :-)

It%26#039;s not such a %26quot;neccessity%26quot; for a woman to get married anymore. :-) She now has the freedom to enjoy her life, just as men do, before she settles down...

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

maybe because they are getting smarter

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Maybe 閳?dare I say it? 閳?they don%26#039;t want to. They%26#039;re more interested in their personal fulfillment than they are in marriage. I can certainly identify with that.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Financial Idependance and personal fulfillment in careers and lifes are probably a huge factor.

On the other side of the coin, many men also choose not to marry. I%26#039;m 35 and do not feel like marriage is the best option.

It is more expensive to be single though.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Two reasons:

1) they believe the feminist nonsense that they can work and find a good man, and have lots of babies.

2) they continue to live at home and are supported by their parents.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Men don%26#039;t want to commit.

Why are 1 in 3 women still single at age 35 in the UK?

Because men do not settle for ugly women anymore. When you marry a hawt girl at least you have a hot to decent looking girl. But what if you marry an ugly woman. Do you think she is going to bake for you ? Do me a favor.

Deidre I had plenty of proove to back it up, like the high divorce statistics and the laws which apply in the case of a divorce which transfer in an instant transfer of wealth followed up by a constant transfer of wealth.

And if annything the rates are skeved in the favour of marriage. By college hardly any child has married parents, yet the divorce rate is said to be slightly above 50is instead of closer to 80is. Kind of weird isnt it ?

Unfair fines........?

were supposed to live in a fair and classless society,

so why is it, laws have been put in place, where if one drops litter, one can be given an on the spot fine, of 鎷?0-鎷?0, depending on where you live.

surely it would have been better to introduce a system, where you are docked say 5-15%, of your net income depending on the nature of the environ-crime you commit, 鎷?0 to someone on tax credits is outragous, 鎷?0 to someone on high incomes, i.e. national average %26amp; above 鎷?8,000 p/yr is a drop in the ocean. we all dump rubbish, be it intentional or not, but unfair fines are just a way of hurting those who can least afford it, same applies to other on the spot fines....do you agree with the sentiment and why ?

Unfair fines........?

these fines are not applied to resolve a problem but simply to increase the coffers for the goverment. 鎷?0 fine for dropping litter is unfair no matter what salary you earn and besides i am sick of this mentality. WHY should people who earn more be punished simply for working hard whereas layabouts get away with it. In this country you are far better sitting at home with 3 kids and claiming benefits than going out to work.

Rather than fine people . ie speed cameras, litter dropping employ more police and rubbish collectors therefore giving jobs

Unfair fines........?

no it is there for a reason to stop people doing it, so if they were to take heed of this they would not drop the litter in the first place.

Unfair fines........?

Quit-Breaking-The-Fuking-Law! That seems to be the %26quot;Best-Method%26quot; of avoiding fines you god-damned litter-bug! Hope this answers your question. 1st Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam %26quot;67%26quot;-%26quot;70%26quot;

-damned litter bug!

Unfair fines........?

In theory you are absolutely correct. The idea of %26quot;equity%26quot; demands that those who are less well off should pay less than those with more. But -- here%26#039;s the rub...

The only way your mitigating factors can be taken into account is through a trial. An officer on the street has neither the time, capacity nor authority to make determinations of economic circumstances. If we are serious about putting your suggestions to work, we would have to put every litterbug on trial, and that is prohibitively expensive. Thus, the only solution is to create a single sized fine that is uniformly enforced on all people, regardless of income. There is no viable alternative outside of a courtroom.

Unfair fines........?

Come on its the Blair PC brigade. If you employ thousands of civil servants you have to give them something to do. So how do we pay for them. Easy what do people do that will take time for them to correct. Its like bells on bikes. You send someone out to spy and skulk around a corner. Then you see a child drop a lolly stick from its pram. Mum missed it but you jump 鎷?0 fine madam. Rich or poor they have you. Trouble is you can get out of your head on drink and drugs drive a car and kill someone. If you didn%26#039;t mean to you may get away with little more that an 鎷?0 fine. No logic but revenue is the game. It stinks.

Unfair fines........?

No. the cost of %26quot;damage%26quot; is the same no matter the income of the culprit.

Unfair fines........?

Wow Chris you%26#039;re not having a happy Sunday are you?

I agree that fines should be related to a persons finances - not necessarily their income as many rich people put their earning in Trusts so it looks as if they don%26#039;t earn much, that way they don%26#039;t pay so much Income Tax. But, fines should be high enough to hurt. That means even if you are poor you need to pay if you break the law. the only real answer is DON%26#039;T break the law.

You don%26#039;t say if you did or not, i hope you didn%26#039;t!

Unfair fines........?

I don%26#039;t pay any fines, I avoid them in a very clever way.

The secret is, but don%26#039;t tell anyone ssshh, I don%26#039;t drop litter, I don,t speed and I do not steal etc.

Unfair fines........?

its the poorer people who dump the rubbish more than the rich... they drive around in cars not hop off and on buses

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...

I am pregnant with third child. My partner works full time earning average wage and gets tax credits which pay for childcare.

I earn nothing just now due to medical reasons- am i entitled to anything even though I live under same roof as my earning partner?

We are stuggling finantially, after we have paid rent, we are left with around 鎷?0 weekly between us to cover everything else such as shopping, travel, electricity ect.

Does anybody know the criteria for DLA?

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

Follow this link to the Directgov website for information about DLA

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeop...

Also use this link to find out general information about benefits

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Bfsl1/Benefi...

Take a look at the link below to see if you qualify for help with travel costs for hospital appointments.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Bfsl1/Benefi...

It might also be worth looking into seeing if you can get a Community Care Grant

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Bfsl1/Benefi...

It is hard to advise properly without knowing all the details, but the information above might help.

I would highly recommend going to see your local Citizens Advice Bureau who will be able to do a %26#039;Benefits Check%26#039; for you, to make sure that you are receiving all the help that you are entitled to.

I would also ask them about applying for DLA, they usually have someone who is specifically trained for this.

It is getting much harder to make a successful claim for DLA, and in nearly all cases now, you will have to be seen by a Dr sent by them to check on your application.

You stand a much better chance if you get help to fill in the form from someone who understands the process, and knows the main criteria, and how to word the application.

I work for a Mental Health Charity and fill in these forms on behalf of some of my clients, believe me it does make a difference.

The same applies to benefits, seek independant advice.

Hope this helps.

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

You will be entitled to Maternity Pay towards the end of your pregnancy, plus I imagine you can claim other benefits now.

Get yourself straight down to the Job Centre and get them to help you out.

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

if you need help with personal care or getting around i Wood think on that income you may get some income support when your at the hospital ask yo see the social worker for advice and good luck

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

I doubt you would get income support. Maternity allowance and that%26#039;s about it.

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

it depends on the total household income and any savings you have, you may get help with council tax payments , housing rent or interest payments of a out standing mortgage, you will be able to claim when baby%26#039;s born, you need to contact a adviser in the first place take any proof with you of income savings and out goings such as mentioned

Benifits Advice? Am I entitled?I am currently having to attend hospital daily for medical reasons...?

My advice would be to claim for Housing benefit straight away. It looks as though you would be entitled to something towards the rent and council tax.

For DLA, type in benefits and all the relevant benefits will come up and you can apply on line. DLA are very slow and 3 months is not uncommon before you hear but you will get paid from your first date of claiming.

There is a scheme for people on income support for help with costs to go to hospital.

Without knowing what your partners wage is before stoppages, I cannot help further. My advice is to claim, they can only say no.

Frozen bank accounts ??

hmrc have fozen a bank account ,(fraud suspiciusion with tax credits)how does this happen, ? are courts involved, with the freeze i hear there is red tape to release an account back, whats red tape, can this be justified , before proof.

Frozen bank accounts ??

if the account have suspicious or possible fraud then yes they surely can put a freeze on your account

you need to go to your bank and speak with the branch manager and he/she will be able to tell you whats going on

Frozen bank accounts ??

not really sure by your question what you are asking so I am going to guess....

YES accounts can be frozen if it is suspected that they are involved in fraud. I believe reasonable suspicion is the standard that the banks must use and there is a time frame where if the charges are not substainated (sp) then the bank must release your funds.

i would talk to an attorney and see if he can help if you find no luck in talking with the branch manager!

Frozen bank accounts ??

they would need to provide the courts with some proof of tax evasion before they would be granted a court order to freeze your bank accounts, I would suggest you see a solicitor urgently as sounds like the brown stuff has hit the proverbial fan.

Frozen bank accounts ??

If you have nothing to hide, and, believe that your Bankers have acted unfairly, see a Solicitor, instruct them (provided that they agree to act) and seek injunctive relief. Prior to taking such a step, if, you are able to persuade your Bank, by sending them a %26#039;letter before action%26#039; (prior to commencing proceedings) that; your financial dealings are %26#039;above board, you will find, that, your account facilities will be restored. Do not do it through the Branch; ask for the address of the Area Office, and write (having retained a photocopy) to; the Area Director.

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A level

I am a single parent working full time getting tax credits for her but I would be moving to spain so wouldnt be earning any money. Would my mum be entitled to claim any benefits for my daughter if she lived with her?

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?

If your parents become the main carers for the child you must stop any claim you have for your child/children by calling the helpline then your parents can add the child/children to their existing claim or they will have send in a application stating the date of responsibility for the child. This date must compile with the date you inform the Tax Credits helpline your are no longer responsible for the child. Therefore if you are not responsible from the 5th Jan they must state the 6th of Jan or the application will be suspended and will take several weeks for the Tax Credit Office to contact yourself and override the system, when this happens it is know as a Verification Failure.

For them to claim CTC your child must be under 20 years old if over 16 be in Full time Non Advance education A levels etc, your parents must not be subject to immagration control and be U.K nationals, there household income must not exceed 鎷?5k.

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?

probably just her family allowance

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?

yes she will. go into your jobcentre to discuss this matter but i can say for defenate that she can claim benefits

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?

So you%26#039;re moving to Spain and abandoning you%26#039;r daughter. How can you afford to live in Spain without money?

As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?

She would be entitled to Child Tax Credits and Child Benefit instead of you if your daughter was living with her. Your daughter may also be entitled to an Educational Maintenance Allowance. Best idea is for her to contact Connexions. Her school may also have information.

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recor

I had the letter a few days ago, saying that I%26#039;m one of the affected people, I just can%26#039;t believe that, what do you think about that?, do you believe that?, and telling me not to worry if I recieve any letter about borrowings or any bill that are not mine, saying that I will not have to pay anything, of course I wouldn%26#039;t!, they should give some compensation for that to all the people, see if next time happens again, and also, why they didn%26#039;t loose the information of people who have to repay the tax credits back?, would be better, not?, I think they lose what they want only, sounds really bad to me, I don%26#039;t believe that, seriusly, it%26#039;s a con

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

Because they are idiots

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

Too many people treat data like it%26#039;s just numbers, not a list of someone%26#039;s life and a chance to take advantage.

Sad.

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

Well what do you expect from this shower of a Government

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

It wasn%26#039;t just stuck in a post box.

They used a courier for internal mail; TNT. *They* lost it.

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

Cos they have ordinary people working there, who are liable to make mistakes just as normal human beings.

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

It has been confirmed that it was NOT sent by post. It was sent by TNT courier but there was no tracking on the parcel. That is how they come to lose the discs.

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

The same way the DVLA in Northern Ireland can lose 2 discs with over 7,500 drivers details on them. Last known to have been at Coventry sorting office on route to Swansea !!!! xx

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

I had the same letter, mine also says %26quot;the disks are probably mislaid, in a office somwhere%26quot;

no sh1t sherlock !

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

I just don%26#039;t BELIEVE it!.........not the loss of the CDs but how badly structured your question is

How can the taxman send two cds with all the details of twenty five million people by post non recorded?

First of all, its not Tax Credit information which has been lost, but the details of people who claim Child Benefit. The disks only contained copies of the information - Child Benefit records are still on HMRC%26#039;s computer system.

The disks were sent by internal mail, probably because the manager who asked for them to be sent did not specify to the clerical assistant that they were to be sent by recorded post. HMRC%26#039;s internal mail system means that all the outgoing post to other departments is sent daily to a central sorting office. There, all the post is sorted and sent on to the other departments, tax offices, etc. This centre handles thousands of bits of post a day, so its not surprising things get lost. If the disks were in a normal internal envelope, there would be nothing to alert anyone as to what the envelope contained. For all anyone knows, it could have arrived at the NAO and be lost somewhere in there.

I am nto sure why you think it%26#039;s a con - what is the benefit to anyone in HMRC to lose this data and get all this publicity?

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Sola

I can only afford to do one at this point in time at my house. Financially, it is a wash (The outlay for Solar Photovoltaic is much higher but is offset by savings on my electric bill and substantial New York State subsidies %26amp; tax credits. I assume switching from oil to gas for heating is a financial wash after the up-front conversion costs). Here are the relevant facts for my house: we burn, despite all our conservation efforts, about 1600 gallons of #2 heating oil a heating season. I can fit a 4.590kW Solar Array on my roof that is expected to net 5116(kWh) a year. I already bought a Prius so don%26#039;t suggest that as a better environmental solution. Any help with this decision would be appreciated.

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

Solar

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

If the solar panels will give you enough power, i would go that way.

that way you won%26#039;t be at the mercy of fluctuating oil or natural gas prices.

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

Environmentally speaking the solar panels are the best choice. It will cut down on exhaust emissions from the consumption of a fuel. The sun is a renewable source and is very economical to capture. My vote would be for the solar panels, but you have to do what is best for your situation.

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

I would be cautious when evaluating the amount of power your panels will generate. The net amount may be correct on average, but will unfortunately also be predominantly available when you need it least and woefully missing when you most want it. Most of your best power-producing days will be during the summer, so that won%26#039;t cut your heating oil consumption at all. Snowfall will have to be kept off the panels and cold, cloudy days are going to be very low productivity. Nighttime is when you need it the most, and that%26#039;s when you get nothing at all! (The rate of heat loss in your home is determined by the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures).

Batteries for storing the electricity are still very toxic and environmentally damaging to produce while also being expensive and of limited lifetime. I believe we are likely to see significant improvements over the next few years, but for now battery technology is pretty poor.

I%26#039;m afraid that solar will only have a minimal impact on your need for other heat sources. However, natural gas is not that much friendlier environmentally than oil (yes, it burns cleaner, but you are still emitting loads of CO2). NG is, however, better from a social point of view since it helps move us away from the awful politics of oil.

You could also consider using wood pellets as a eco-friendly heat source:

http://www.pelletheat.com/index.php

At least that makes a closed loop in terms of CO2: trees store the carbon, you burn them and emit CO2, the new trees build themselves out of that CO2, you burn them.... (cycle continues). With fossil fuels we are taking the carbon from the ground and pumping into the atmosphere with no good way to close the loop. NG, oil and coal all suffer from this problem.

Google %26quot;pellet heat%26quot; for lots of helpful sites if you want more information on wood pellet stoves.

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

Depends on your location!

The major advantage of solar is that because sunshine is free, they have no operating cost. Unless you happen to be in the cold four month winter season between late September and March, the solution is gas!

The advantages of gas are low initial cost installed including a propane storage tank, for a typical residential home the ability to maintain a desired temperature during almost any weather conditions, and very fast recovery (the period of time needed to bring the whole house up to temperature.) The principal drawback is operating cost. For a typical heating season propane costs to maintain a 15X30 (USA). While many home owners now consider gas prohibitively expensive, you may want to consider it as a winter supplement to another, more cost effective form of heating if you need to be indoors for ie medical reasons.

Another plus for environmentally concerned home owners is that solar energy is renewable and non-polluting. The major disadvantage is that solar does not provide heat on demand. In other words, the solar system can only put into the house the heat which is available from the sun on any given day. You cannot make more solar energy the way you might burn more gas or use more electricity to maintain your house heating system (used in conjunction during the winter- used more than double) from four months to nine or ten months every year in cold countries and areas.

From an environmental standpoint, is it better to convert to Natural Gas from #2 Oil or Install Solar Panels?

another simple option that you could consider is to switch to bioheat (conventional home heating oil containing biodiesel) in the interim while considering your above options.

http://www.biodiesel.org/markets/hom/faq...

You could also consider converting your current furnace to run on an alternative fuel (SVO, biodiesel, or used motor oil).

Anyone from uk with housing ????

hiya...anyone that can help will be great.my boyfriend moved in with me 2 1/2 years ago..we were supported with his wages (we have 3 kids only one he fathered) and been getting child tax credits and half rent housing benifit.recently we have split up and have decided for the kids sake we will stay under the same roof.what i want to know is if he is just hear as just a lodger and not supporting my other 2 kids what am i entitled to?? would the guv still expect him to since he is only a lodger??? and will i still get my side of rent paid as i cant work

Anyone from uk with housing ????

This sounds like a complex situation - make an appointment with your local citizens advice bureau - they will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration and give you the best advice.

Seperation in the uk?

how do i go about filing for seperation in the UK, i have 2children too, so im worried about being homeless with 2kids, tax credits etc. does anybody have any advice for me....

Seperation in the uk?

Yes, go to the citizens advice bureau and they can go through all your options.

You can be seperated without filing for a judicial seperation. Do you live with your partner still? It is possible to seperate and still live under the same roof.

What hours do you work, how old are you children. The answers will affect your entitlement to working tax credits and child tax credit. If you have children and you work 16 hours or more a week you will be entitled to working tax credit.

Have you a place to live at the moment? is it a marital home? Is you name on the deeds? If you are married and your name is not on the deeds then you need a solicitor asap to get your interests in the property registered so as your partner cannot sell the house from under you.

A lot more information is needed to advise you of all your options.

Please go to the citizens advice bureau. It is free and confidential

Take care

McDonalds or the Dole?

If you found yourself in a hole in between jobs and had to choose between signing on the dole or working in MaccyD%26#039;s as a stopgap what would you choose?

Proponents of low skilled immigration claim we %26quot;need%26quot; immigrants to do these jobs, as British people wont%26#039; %26quot;do%26quot; them and would prefer to sign on. This is untrue.

My other half worked in MaccyD%26#039;s for quite a while when he first came to Wales and was looking for a %26quot;proper%26quot; job - to him it was a matter of pride. He hates claiming benefits and prefers to work even if its crap work.

Plus

1) a crappy job is better money than dole - 40 hours at 鎷?.35 ph = 鎷?00-ish per week + tax credits. Dole is 鎷?7 per week.

2) Its always easier to get a job when you already have a job. Even a crap one.

3) Even a low status, burger-flipping job looks better on your CV than *gaps* in your employment history, and provides some basic %26quot;skills%26quot; (customer service, cash handling etc) which you can dress up.

What would you do?

McDonalds or the Dole?

The thing you are missing here is, along with claiming Dole comes free housing and no council tax to pay !! So from there point of view they would be worse off flipping Burgers !! I%26#039;m not saying I agree but this is fact and if you have kids your set for the next 16 years, So you can see why some people wont do it !! :)

McDonalds or the Dole?

McDonalds...people will love you!

McDonalds or the Dole?

It would take a lot of effort but i%26#039;d prob force myself into macdonalds, never know you might get some free burgers

McDonalds or the Dole?

Any job is better than none, helps the self esteem.

McDonalds or the Dole?

I%26#039;d be the best burger flipper in the joint...and work towards the day when they%26#039;ll all be missing me there.

McDonalds or the Dole?

i%26#039;d hate it but probably work in mcdonalds!

rather stand on my own 2 feet and work for my money than sit at home doing nothing!

McDonalds or the Dole?

Well, after reading your question it looks like you answered it to.

McDonalds or the Dole?

IN Hawaii Dole was a top employer where it%26#039;s employers good make a decent living

McDonalds or the Dole?

Take the job at McDonalds......money plus good coffee and salads.

McDonalds or the Dole?

I would work in Mc Donalds as you say its more than JSA and there is some element of career progression and like you say it looks good not to have gaps on cv. Use Mc Donalds until you find a better job

McDonalds or the Dole?

I wouldn%26#039;t sign on so I would have to take the job at MacDonalds, but I would make damn sure I got another quicky and invested in some spot defence while I was working there.

McDonalds or the Dole?

Alway take pride in yourself and you will be successful. Nothing wrong with working at McD%26#039;s or a coffee shop.

McDonalds or the Dole?

whats %26quot;the Dole%26quot; you mean where they can pineapples?

thats the only dole I know of, exept for Bob Dole

I wonder if Bob Dole likes Dole pineapples... hmm thats another question

McDonalds or the Dole?

Take the blasted job in McD and get out of it ASAP the same as most other people. If an employer queiries it tell himstraight. I%26#039;d say he would prefer that to someone content to sit around on benefits

McDonalds or the Dole?

i would get everyone in a room, tell them why capitalism causes poverty and unemployment, then tell them why libertarian communism would be better for everyone...

then you wouldnt need to ask this question

until then, i guess people will continue to believe that the earth is flat and spend their whole lives working hard for a minority of rich people who do nothing

McDonalds or the Dole?

Easy - MacDonalds - more likely to get another job - and it proves you are not lazy - anyone can justify doing a job as a %26#039;filler%26#039;, but can you justify doing nothing when you could be working?

I know who I%26#039;d employ!

PS - I know not all people on the dole are lazy - but this question is about making the right choice if you have one

McDonalds or the Dole?

My gawd, the minimum wage is so high in the UK. I am assuming that Mac%26#039;s pays minimum wage. Here in USA the minimum wage is about $6.00 an hour, about 3 pounds I think.

So people here prefer welfare (your dole?).

McDonalds or the Dole?

I would work. I have been in that situation before. almost 5 years ago I was laid off of my job. I could have drawn unemployment insurance for several months. But I took a job that paid less than I had been making and had no health insurance benefits.

If I hadnt taken that job I wouldnt have been in the right place at the right time to be able to get the job I have now.

I worked the job I had to take for a year, and then went to the job I have no now and im doing great.

And as far as teh McDonald%26#039;s and minimum wage, well anywhere in teh USA I have been at least, McDonalds pays higher than minimum wage. with low unemployment they have to. Its not like its a huge amount of money but its something. And who is going to want to hire someone who has been sitting on their butt when they could have been working at something at least.

McDonalds or the Dole?

I used to work in mcdonalds when i was about 15. I lasted 2 weeks. I could not stand the smell and being constantly shouted at in that pseudo military amercian style of management. So, having had the experience, whether I worked there again, it would depend on my level of desparation. If I was out of a job but had been previously on quite good money so had either savings or a back up fund, or even some overdraft or credit card monies, AND was expecting to start someting in a few weeks, I wouldnt bother. However, If I didnt have anything to fall back on and my unemployement was going to be ongoing, I would have to find a job anywhere in order to live, so yes, if it was my only option I would. I do believe that there are jobs that %26#039;british%26#039; people wont do and largely they are in the cleaning and public service or hospitality industries.

McDonalds or the Dole?

flippin burgers will keep you from starving and will give you a lot more self respect than living off the government.

McDonalds or the Dole?

I would want to work but would probably stack shelves at night in a supermarket as it pays much more than McDonalds!!

McDonalds or the Dole?

McDonalds always, any job (within reason) is better than none as u dont become idle and u have a social network at work and a routine. Scrounging off the dole when u dont need to is pretty low

McDonalds or the Dole?

I agree with you and commend the attitude of your other half in taking a job whilst he waited for the right job for him to come along

It%26#039;s a shame that in these present times too many people will opt for unemployment benefit topped up with family credits .

The welfare state was set up to ensure those living in poverty and who could not work , or find work had some standard of living

Nowadays the government points to low unemployment ( and to be fair more jobs in the economy) but conveniently glosses over the ridiculously high level of those on incapacity benefit .

McDonalds or the Dole?

Although I don%26#039;t think I would want to work there for very long, I would choose McD%26#039;s now - with rent %26amp; bills to pay I wouldn%26#039;t want to rely on benefits. I think if you worked at McD%26#039;s you would never want to eat there again though! You would be sick of the sight of burgers.

McDonalds or the Dole?

I work and its cos I was on the dole for 6 months before

a) I got SO BORED!

and

b) I was paid by income support the money I was owed.

They dont pay you immediatly- they do pay up eventually but it takes so long and back payment arrives in a cheque which adds days to you getting money into you account. Make sure your in credit with the bank or your overdraft limit is ok as they dont pay bank fees or overdraft interests.

On the good side- housing benefit if you dont work and council tax benefit of you dont work make it certain you can live and have a roof over your head, you just then only have to worry about how far you can make 鎷?7 a week spread for food, electrics, tv licence, travel and going out

Mc donalds -you must really love their food, the wage if you do it full time is 9K a year, (minus tax) and this meand you have to get help with housing -though you will still be paying some amonut towards your rent and council tax.

All in all, it works of worse to get working minimum wage unless you have someone pay your rent/you live with your parents.

I can only offer you the advice I follow- I work in a minimum wage job at river island, I can only do up to 16 hours a week before I loose my council tax and housing benefit and have 22% tax to pay as oppose to 10% tax which I currently pay from my wages.

I can earn about 鎷?0 a week but then you have to take off tax for 16 hours a wek, I have this insted of income support.

Or I can work 4 hours a week and still be allowed to get income support in full (The first 鎷?0 of your earning is not taken into accout)

Be aware that when I last worked over 16 hours they didnt take into account th fact I was loosing 22% tax and so I actually lost the money as they had me paying rent and council tax and not recieving income support, I lost out.

Trying to argue this with income support is SO frustratinf, it becomes like a full time job and you begin to wonder how you will ever find work again as all you time is taken up waiting on the phone for answers about money they owe you, and waiting on hold and being passed through to dead lines or them loosing your claim...

Mcdonalds is dull and tireing from what I hear (river island is not much better I can promise you) but at least I go home knowing money is in the bank and I can shout at my manager when it doesnt, not a brown plastic handset!

McDonalds or the Dole?

I agree with you, I楹揹 rather keep my dignity and remain in some form of employment. The reasons you have mentioned are all valid, especially the point about long-term unemployment, prospective employers will always be put off by this - I believe it is known as the 楹搒carring effect楹?

%26quot;Low status%26quot; work isn楹搕 demeaning in my opinion, I楹揹 certainly never look down on anybody who does an honest day楹搒 work. When I was at university I had many menial jobs - I worked as a kitchen porter, for example, with ex-cons. Whilst it wasn楹搕 the most pleasant job I have had, it makes me appreciate the work I do now.

I believe there should be a welfare state, however, I believe that we should discourage welfare dependency. The Japanese model is the one I find the most interesting - if you claim welfare the government will find you work. I understand the government even employs people to pass the money/receipt between the driver and the booth operator at tolls on the motorways!

McDonalds or the Dole?

Well if you are under 20 mcdonalds is fine..if your like say 37...you would be better off spending all your time looking for work in other areas..or doing voluntry work and using your skills that way.

(oh and at that age you realise that %26quot;dignity%26quot; and %26quot;self worth%26quot; are bullshit words used by crap people - to manipulate you into doing what they want - and you would never find either of them working in Mcdonalds).

And if your a vegitarian...well it%26#039;s the dole.

McDonalds or the Dole?

McDonalds every time

McDonalds or the Dole?

Over 40% of McDonalds top people started on the shop floor, so if you are looking for a career and a chance to travel the World McDonalds will help you to achieve both.

They have a written progression path and anyone can travel it, if you can tick all the box%26#039;s and everyone is given the chance to progress then you can arrive at the top with McDonalds.

Tell me a another company that puts it in writing for all employee%26#039;s.

The Professor.

McDonalds or the Dole?

10/10

Thats the spirit.

I would cancel the welfare state overnight.

I believe if you haven%26#039;t paid in you can%26#039;t take out.

I also believe that between the ages of 18 and 60 you can only claim for 10 years and thats it.

Then you could double the amount of benefit for those who deserve it.

I would ban people from having more than 3 kids.

etc etc etc.

I have a massive problem with single mums caning benefits and people of colour with 7 kids.

Who will never work and end up in jail.

I use to feel sorry for the unemployed as ive been there myself.

But you have people who don%26#039;t want to work and thats wrong when you are young.

The dole pays better,

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Hi, my partner claims obseekers allowence for us both, and we get tax credits for our 3 very young children. My partner has just started a course which is part of the benefits scheme. My oldest goes to nursery on the afternoon and im having trouble taking and picking her up as my partner usually does it. Im having trouble because my 1 1/2 year old wont walk outside and my youngest is 3 months, i cant push 2 pushchairs at once. Im just wondering if i can get free childcare or so much free for her if im on benefits? just a couple of hours a day, then it will give me time to pick my other child up from nursery. To be honest she would benefit from nursery as she is very shy and would open her up a bit especially as she starts big school nursery in march next year too.

All advice very apprichiated. thanks.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Good to hear that your partner is at college, at least he is making an effort to get to college and get decent qualifications for a better job

I am so fed up with people that put down people on benefits (not everyone does it to scrounge) ( by the way I do work but I%26#039;m not small minded and I have spent time on benefits so I know how hard the struggle is.) Do people really believe that on benefits you are free loading? It is a measly amount that you struggle with daily to make ends meet

Unfortunately you will not be able to get child care, as it does only seem to be there for more well off people, but some colleges have their own nurseries so maybe your kid could go there. Your partner would have to speak to the college to find out about any financial support.

Good Luck

:-)

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Childcare is only subsidised for people who work. You are not working. Get a double buggy.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

This annoys me that my hubby works hard to provide a nice home etc for us and people like you why can%26#039;t your partner get a job instead of looking for hand outs

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Only if your working

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Unfortunately you can get the place for 2 hours of free childcare only when your child is 2 years old and more likely it will be the same hours as the nursery. Childcare is extremely expensive especially in London area. I had go to work with my little one because of that. In your case you can get a child care costs ONLY if you are at work (not just your partner). I found that childcare services are in favour of high paid jobs or jobs with child care allowances.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

not unless you are both working and then sometimes you will have to pay towards the child care, however you could have private child care for a few hours but this is at cost from yourself and not the govenment! you will better off if your husband works full time and you get a part time job or get a double buggy..

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

If you were in Canada, you could apply for them through Employment Insurance. It looks like, to me, you are a stay at home Mom/Dad. You don%26#039;t specify your gender. Smart, but doesn%26#039;t matter. Unless you are taking a course also, you can%26#039;t double-dip. Consult whoever is paying his/her benefits.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Ask the nursery? Are you supposed to get tax credits if getting job seekers? Do what we all had to do and struggle to the nursery or buy a double buggy.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

You can get a double pushchair for about 鎷?0, how about joining a mother and toddler group, most kids are shy at that age and childcare won%26#039;t change that. I have 4 under 4 and yes it%26#039;s difficult to get about, but if I didn%26#039;t think i could cope I wouldn%26#039;t have had them.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

if you are claiming child tax credits then yes you can get help if not free child care ring the child tax credit office and they will give you all the info you need

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

I don%26#039;t believe this! Get a double buggy or get organised. I work full time and as does my partner. We pay out for a full time childminder. We don%26#039;t get any benefits and I currently have 鎷?.50 to my name, but we manage.

It makes me really angry to see questions like this. We work damm hard - so should you.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Your %26quot;partner%26quot; and you decided that marriage and a reasonable number of children was a bad idea, right? And he chose to avoid the college thing and is now getting layed off. You knew all this and decided to have three children together.

And after all those poor choices, you%26#039;re asking us, the taxpayers, to bail you out. To take our hard-earned money so you don%26#039;t have to work. You%26#039;re said that correctly: you, not the rest of the taxpayers, have to put food on the table. You haven%26#039;t learned to live with the consequences of your actions, have you?

Instead of ready, aim, fire, you%26#039;re doing ready, fire, aim.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

what you do is get to the local charity shop or warehouse and ask them if they have a double buggy or you get a hodall that you can put the baby o n your chest. to say you can%26#039;t pick your child up is an insult to the 1000%26#039;s of women who do it every day including those who work! If your 1 1/2 year old won%26#039;t walk outside how are you going to get him to nursery you still have the two buggy problem eh!!!!!!Sorry but this question annoys me because l have 5 children and work . My friend has 5 children one is 4 who is at nursery with my twins she gets there to pick him up every day with her 16 month old and four month old. Its so easy to find reasons not to do something when your on benefits and its all paid for you. I%26#039;m not talking from ignorance either before you tell me that l don%26#039;t know how hard it is to get a job. I was on benefits with 3 boys untill l got a job as a shop assistant within 2 years l had worked my way up to manager. I paid for childcare out of my WAGES . The high l got from earning a wage was a lot better than collecting my giro..!! Even when l had my twins l still kept my job part time.I had my eldest at nursery and my two others age 2 and 1 at home. Yes its hard you just drop them off and its time to pick them up again but you had them. Come on no excuses.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

no, free childcare is for people who are working.

If your partner is having problems getting a job, why dont you get one and leave him at home to look after the kids?

Im sure if we did not have a welfare state then you would have no trouble finding a job.

Also, it is the taxpayer putting food on your table, NOT you.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Get a double buggy, that%26#039;s what I did

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

you can only get free child care i believe from the age of 3 in a nursery or in some places 2.5 years.

if you were working then you could probably get help with child care costs through the working tax credits system for working parents, but its not 100% free you still would have to pay for some of it (i think the max is about 鎷?80 a week and less for 2nd and subsequent children)

if you have the money i would try -

1. buy a double buggy (look in the papers, on the net and in charity shops for cheap ones, or go on to a freecycle website for your area as people often have things that others want and they are all free!!!)

2. buy a buggy board - they fit on the back of a buggy so your older child can sit/stand on it if he/she doesnt want to walk. these are a bit more expensive though at about 鎷?0.

3. get a baby sling from ebay for the littlest one, they cost about 鎷?0-鎷?0 and are really handy for every day use.

4. try and find a mother and toddler/baby group in your area they can be a great help. my daughter hated the one i went to when she was 1 year old but loves it now she is 2. remember kids go through phases so just because she/hes shy now doesnt mean to say she/he will be in 6 months! groups like the singing circles are really good too as mum/dad can interact aswell and they are only a couple of pound for a couple hours and you could take all your kids too so they all have fun.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

My eldest child was 16 months old when my youngest arrived and we only had 鎷?00 a month left for luxuries after bills and nappies etc (and yes my husband was and is still working!) but we still got hold of a great second hand double buggy at a good price. There are all sorts places where you can get bargains such as eBay, classifieds etc. Plus if you speak to your childs health visitor they will give you information about all your local mother and baby/toddler groups which was a great help to me.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

You could use a baby sling for the youngest or get a doulble buggy. You shouldn%26#039;t expect to get everything for free just because you are on benefits. Also if you put her in childcare you will have the same problem collecting them from nursery/childminder anyway as you will still have to get her there and back as they won%26#039;t supply transport.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

having young children who dont walk is no excuse fo wanting free child care its just lazy and if its in your childs interest you will get off your backside and get her there by what ever means nessercery

i am a mum of 3 children and even with a 1 year old and a premature baby in tow i still managed to do the school run i just took a double buggy come rain or shine she goes

i also manage all this on top of the fact that i am disabled and that 2 of my girls have a tissue disease

what the hell would you do if you were a single parent?

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

yes you would need to work to get childcare unfortunately. I am a single mother myself with one 4 yr old and at one point i had two jobs, one part time and also being self employed. i am now fully self employed and my son is at school (which is free) but his after school club i have to pay for, so i get childcare help with that. for your youngest child to be 3 months they are a little young for childcare, i would suggest your partner find a full time job (its not that hard in this country! anything will do) until your youngest is about a year old, then you should find part time work and have them all in childcare only a couple of days a week. why not work from home if you can?

good luck;-)

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

im not taking the p*** out of u personally...but it makes me laugh, i work and my partner work we have two children i would like free childcare but no i have to pay for my kids to go to nursery i still have the same bills/outgoings u pay but we had to struggle to send our kids to nursery..its right what the other person said get a double buggy..and why should we as taxpayers bust a gut (working) for people on benefits who want to get free child care cos u cant cope with 3 kids then you should%26#039;nt of had them..if your husband getting jobseekers then he should be looking for work not picking up the kids from nursery and then having the cheek to ask for free childcare...i see plenty of mums with young children picking/dropping their other children so get up of your backside and do it urself...what would u do if your husband was working????

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

myself and my wife were in a similar position we have a 3 y.o a 18 month old and a young baby to. what i would advise you to do is both have part time jobs under 20 hours so you can still put all three kids in nursery while you both work as alraedy advised by others you can claim up to 80% of the child care . i would also asume you are in the uk? if so i would have advised you to have used your surestart maternity grant to have bought a double pram they are a godsend . if you have problems finding the cost for the first month there is a government run iniitative called %26quot;working for families%26quot; that could help. they help pay the fisrt months nursery fees help with bus pass costs to get yourself on your feet.. working and coming home to your family is the most rewarding feeling ever.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

I sympathise with anyone who is, genuinely, on benefits and is desperately trying to eke out an existence. I was once in that situation for a year until I found fresh employment. My daughter still is and has two small children aged 3 and 5. Rather than stay jobless and claiming benefits she has decided to do something about it and has taken A levels that have enabled her to go to university where she is studying as a student nurse. This also involves working at a hospital on long hours, today for example she is on duty from 7.00 am until 9.00 pm. To fund this she is given a bursary of 鎷?000 a year. However from this she has to find childcare costs, rent food, travel and has had to buy a uniform. Although it is hard she is getting by and i admire her tremendously for doing this when she could have sat back and let the state keep her. However one lesson she has learned is this. When you attend the Benefits Office ASK WHAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO. They have to tell you if you ask but do not volunteer it if you don%26#039;t. Said daughter has been very persistent and will not take no for an answer if she feels she has unclaimed entitlements. My advice is then that you should go along there, explain your situation, and make them tell you what you can claim. There certainly is help there, it%26#039;s just making them give it to you that%26#039;s the problem. If they%26#039;re obstructive go along to your local M P%26#039;s surgery and tell him/her of your problems and that, as your representative, they should help. Keep on at them until they do. Go to the Citizen%26#039;s Advice Bureau also. They can help in many ways from advice to acting for you in debt management.

Best wishes for Christmas and I hope you get resolved soon.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Why did you have 3 children if you can%26#039;t afford them?

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

why don%26#039;t you get a double buggy??????

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Have you never heard of a double buggy

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

you cant afford the double buggy but can afford the internet?

prioritize! my childcare was 400 pounds plus a month when i was a single mum, and i never quit my job and got benefits but damn sure i kept a roof over mine and my sons head. i never had the internet then, i got no working families tax and my childs father gave us nothing, the csa are still on the case.

having a small family is hard as others have said, you get nothing for free in this world

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

Hi Couldn%26#039;t you pick up a good second hand double buggy, to put both small children in.

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

hi, i no this has been said before get a double buggy or a buggy board, try a freecycle group

Can i get free childcare when on benefits?

sorry you both have to be working a minimum of 16 hours per week to claim childcare (even then it%26#039;s only up to 80%) if you have a child over 3, you can claim 5 half sessions per week for 2 terms out of 3. this starts from the term after your child%26#039;s 3rd birthday. If your youngest is 3 months, you can claim incapacity benefit if you have paid enough ni contributions in the last 2 tax years. (this will count on your tax credits as %26#039;working%26#039;) i do get annoyed at people on benefits though but it%26#039;s obvious you are trying. you cannot possibly work with 3 young children if your partner does not have a good enough job to support the family. nurseries charge in advance and it would cost about 鎷?500 per month to put your children in nursery full time.

CAn i get any help...?

Can i get any financial help, i am currently not working but cannot get jobseekers. My husband earns less than 15k a year. I have an 18 month old son. I am looking for a job but in the meantime am struggling a bit - does anyone know if i can claim any benefits or anything.

We get tax credits of 鎷?0 .

CAn i get any help...?

Try visiting your local Citizen%26#039;s Advice Bureau - they should be able to tell you what you ought to be entitled to and how to get it.

Try also http://www.entitledto.co.uk/

CAn i get any help...?

You can try your local council to see if you can get help towards your rent and council tax if your renting - you dont say why your not able to claim JSA ......are you not eligible for Income Support??

CAn i get any help...?

You should check with you benefits office (if you have not done so already) - it sounds like you should be entitled to more in the way of tax credits. If you pay rent, you may be able to get some help with your rent, depending on how much it is. You can get some assistance if you ring up your local authority and ask to speak to the %26#039;Supporting People Team%26#039;.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

Me and my partner have just found out im pregnant with my second child, and my first is only 4 months....and yes was using protection. I dont believe in abortions, so we are keeping the baby. I am also badly in debt and cannot keep paying as i got this debt through being on maternity leave. Im also going back to work part time as we cant afford childcare even with tax credits. My family cant help to look after my son. Each month we are down around 鎷?00. I badly need help

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

You need to write to your creditors and explain your situation. Make a list of all your income and outgoings, without including the debts, and then from the remainder, split it between all the people you owe money to and offer them this amount per week or month. Most of the lenders will accept it. Most of them will also stop the interest too.

There are other ways you can cut down on expenses too. Make sure you have the best fuel suppliers, insurance companies etc, and check out frugal tips online about feeding your family for less. Try an envelope budgeting system.

Also consider becoming a childminder where you can stop at home with your child while earning money.

Congratulations on your new baby and your pregnancy by the way.

www.entitledto.com

Check out this site and it will tell you if you are entitled to any other help. For example you may be entitled to help with childcare costs if you did go back to work.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

A big start would be to get rid of the internet to lower the bills...

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

Where you live maybe i will help you out

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

It depends on where you live... we would need a little more information to help you out please.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

OH dear, you need more than that. You and your partner need to find better jobs. Arrange a payment plan with your creditors, and enjoy being a mother of 2.

EDIT - this woman is clearly in the UK, she mentions her income in POUNDS, so why are people telling her about the American welfare system? She can%26#039;t claim welfare in the USA! She can claim Maternity benefit and Income Support in the UK, and like all of us, she will get free health care anyway! She will also get her housing costs paid, as does everyone in the UK who is temporarily out of work or unable to work, or getting a low wage.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

see a financial or benefits advisor

it takes 2 to tango!!

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

if all else fails you could put up for adoption but if not. friends may help and family

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

you should try and get to a CAB. They can help you with your debt. They do an incoming and outgoing list with you, they can also contact the companies you owe money to and get them to reduce the amounts. They can do a huge amount for you, give them a try. I know it%26#039;s gonna be hard, but congrats on your new baby to be.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

call debt matters and talk to someone who can give sympathetic advice, they will help you lower your payments to your creditors.

It will all work out, if you do something NOW don%26#039;t ignore it it wont go away.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

There are many programs that are offered. First seek out hep to receive food and home credits (also called welfare) this is nothing to be ashamed of if you need it (only people who don%26#039;t want to work cause they are lazy should be ashamed) two talk to churches many are very willing to help, three talk to money management

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

you wont like to hear this, but you will need to lose the internet, your sky tv, if you have it,even the house phone,as you can always have a pay as you go,this alone would save you a lot on your outgoing, and tear up your credit cards,or you will never recover with the high interest that they charge

good luck

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

lose your job, become unemployed or go on the sick or something. You%26#039;ll get ya rent paid for because you have kids, get loads things on credit and then sell em on. your mad to work whilst a parent these days

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

Look into applying for programs designed for people with low income...such as assistance with child care, housing, health insurance, heating....

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

I can%26#039;t add to the really good advice you%26#039;ve already been given, except to say that I brought up 2 children on my own and worked full time. Unfortunately for me this was before the advent of tax credits. The kids are now in their 20s and I%26#039;m very proud of them. I now have a little to spare. You have each other and as long as you%26#039;re there for one another and support each other, you%26#039;ll get there. Go to the CAB and take their advice. It probably won%26#039;t be easy; you%26#039;ll have to cut back on ALL except essentials but you can do it. Good luck.

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

Start by going into CAB they will beable to advise you about your money. sit down with your partner and look where you can cut back. You cannot carry on spending full time wages with part time work, the second child will not cost as much as the first one did. Most of the clothes you can pass down unless the baby is a girl

the future may look bleak but it will not be as bad as you imagine

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

I grew up the second oldest of four GIRLS (all within one or two years of eachother). I am twenty now but while we were young both of my parents worked at grocery stores until about fifth grade! GROCERY STORES! We never had cable, we ate macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, and tons of spagetti but guess what? We have always been such a happy, great, amazing family. My parents did the very best that they could with what they had. And even though we were poor and probably in debt - they hid it from us very well. I am not sure that it will all be solved quickly, as it took a long time for our family to bring in a great income, (my parent%26#039;s are doing extremely well since about ten years ago!) But you don%26#039;t NEED Welfare. As I said, we didn%26#039;t eat gourmet meals, we ate cheap. But we were happy. We had holes in some of our walls and a shi**y playground, but we were happy. We had no cable, obviously no internet, and we weren%26#039;t allowed to use the phone often. But we were happy. We believed in eachother, and in ourselves. If you do the same, you will be perfectly fine. It%26#039;s okay to %26quot;just get by%26quot; but don%26#039;t give up. You will be an amazing mother, again. GOOD LUCK!

Pregnant with 2nd child, badly in debt, hardly any money coming in, please help me?

Well I have not read the whole story. Yet I think you got big debt . can one of you file for bankcruptcy while the other dont. That way you get rid of the debt for a while. However, the one declaring bankcruptcy will have trouble with financial issues for a long time...

Then again the family can run. Also, if abortion is ok then.....??

Maybe no more children after this. Reduce your expenses for once and all
