How much points do inquiries take off your credit?
The inquiries remain on your report for 2 years. They only count in scoring for 1 year, with the biggest effect in the first 6 months. These are only HARD inquiries, where you apply for credit. If they are soft inquiries then they have no effect on your score and are only seen by you. As for the inquiries in general they may take off 3-8 points per inquiry, but also only account for 10% of your total score, so there is a limit.
However, if I am reading your question right it is the 5 tax liens that are dragging your score down more. How many points you get back now that you paid them really depends on the rest of your report.

Credit it a funny thing. A general rule of thumb is that credit inquires for a mortgage take about 3-5 points. And cred companies from about 1-3 points. It really depends. Tax leins can take a toll as well. Just because you got them cleared doesn%26#039;t mean that you get the points back quickly. You will have to write letters to the credit breaus and request that they take this off. Credit Breaus are Equifax, transunion and experian. Start there... You will probably invest more time them some company.
