the illegals here taking jobs and driving down wages of those who are suffering the most...
the outsourcing of jobs overseas..etc....I hear a lot of talk about bailing out people or lenders embroiled in the foreclosure crisis, and now I am hearing about tax cuts....
But what about those other issues? when will they address those particular straws being piled on the breaking back of the american citizen camel?
But what about record credit card debt, unaffordable health care costs, higher cost of foods and gas prices ?
You are right that we have many problems to deal with now. What concerns me though is the %26quot;when will THEY address%26quot; those issues? I take it %26quot;they%26quot; means the government, and the bad news is, that for the most part, the government CAUSED the problems.
Credit card debt--of late a lot of that debt has come from two things: the usurious rates of interest NOW ALLOWED on cards (wasn%26#039;t the case 20+ years ago) AND the fact that quite a lot of folks are charging things like food, gas, utilities on their card--NOT luxury items.
Health care is again a combo of government ineptitude and the ALLOWED greed of insurers who are NOT paying what they SHOULD (see:
http://www.thenationalcoalition.org/DrPe...
http://www.newsmax.com/medicine_men/medi...
High food costs are partially a result of inflation (always caused by the government--we have %26quot;fiat currency%26quot; and the money supply tinkering causes inflation--they do love to print money!) more a result of increased fuel prices (lots of fuel involved in food production and distribution) and the boneheaded push for ethanol (uses more energy than it produces, low Btu output, some bad problems with using it etc. Superior idea, biodiesel, esp. if made from WASTE vegetable oil or using the algae that produces the primary source of material).
Gas prices--the government LIES and tells people it%26#039;s about the %26quot;greed%26quot; of the oil companies (though they take TWICE as much in taxes as the oil companies do in profits). For more than three decades anyone who isn%26#039;t brain dead has been on alert that this addiction to fossil fuels is STUPID. We had biodiesel back then, not as advanced as now, but ignored it. Even today people don%26#039;t build properly insulated buildings, use at least passive solar, or consider nuclear energy. Why? A lot of it is the government again.
Illegal immigration IS the government%26#039;s fault--we had a porous border, we GAVE them free health care and knowingly looked the other way while they took jobs which also meant they displaced the slackers who we told didn%26#039;t need to bother to finish even high school which had been dumbed down for no good reason. Where exactly are THOSE homegrown uneducated folks supposed to work? Oh, no they should not work--give them welfare (until we got welfare reform at last), but there are still no real consequences for NOT having any education or skills.
Outsourcing jobs IS an issue because we have nutcases all over the place who now want to try to outsource things like MEDICAL CARE. Read those articles about the %26quot;globalization%26quot; of health care. The non-ill jerks can%26#039;t understand why Americans should have their x-rays read right away--nope, transmit them to India where we know that a great expert radiologist will read them for 10% of what an American would and we can treat the patient then. Of course with generics produced in India. The doctor will be an IMG (International Medical Grad) that we STOLE away from India (what do their one billion people need with physicians THEY paid to train?) and the nurse will be from the Philippines (hey, why expand nursing ed in the US when we have people ALL over the world clamoring to get in? What would people in the Philippines need with a nurse they paid to educate?)
Bottom line is this: the US politicians today are ILLITERATE in Constitutional matters, ILLOGICAL, IMMORAL, and AFRAID to tell the American people that the government is NOT their daddy and will NOT be taking care of every little thing they should take care of themselves.
There are CYCLES in food production, market economics, and more. If things are %26quot;growing%26quot; everyone%26#039;s happy as can be; if things stall a bit or go down, the Nervous Nellies start TINKERING and then IT Hits the fan. These are the same fools who never studied a legitimate economist and can%26#039;t grasp why a housing market CAN NOT and frankly SHOULD NOT go up and up and up EVERY YEAR for infinity. There are CONSEQUENCES and the fallout WILL be experienced one way or another.
So, citizens, let%26#039;s US get logical, educate ourselves about the REAL Constitution, behave logically, and stop turning to the government when it%26#039;s BETTER for people to do it for themselves, their families, their communities, and even the state level in some cases--kind of the plan that allowed us to GROW into the strongest nation ever. There ARE solutions out there but they do NOT stem from the government.
But what about record credit card debt, unaffordable health care costs, higher cost of foods and gas prices ?
When was the last time you applied for a job picking lettuce in a field all day or washing dishes in a restaurant?
Illegal aliens don%26#039;t take white collar professional jobs away from Americans.
But what about record credit card debt, unaffordable health care costs, higher cost of foods and gas prices ?
seperate what are failures of personal responsibility
and then compare where we are vs the rest of the world with other dynamics
and you%26#039;ll realize 99.9% of the problems come from a gov%26#039;t that is driven by special interest and greed..
that few care what they are going to do when they get in the car that day and almost all of them pick and choose for themselves what the path of least resistance is
and that Gov%26#039;t itself needs a serious makeover..we need to purge every civil servant that cannot hack it

Outsourcing Jobs overseas,,, what does that mean. Do companies %26quot;owe%26quot; it to Americans to have a job for them, when all they do is complain about the break room, need more benefits, less work, more money, vacation days, can only lift 20 pounds, and then claim bi-polar and want workmans compensation. If we take care of these issues, then outsourcing and illegals would go away. We didn%26#039;t seem to have these problems in the 50%26#039;s and 60%26#039;s.
But what about record credit card debt, unaffordable health care costs, higher cost of foods and gas prices ?
They have been. Where have you been?
But what about record credit card debt, unaffordable health care costs, higher cost of foods and gas prices ?
You%26#039;re all over the map here - how is credit card debt %26quot;Piling on the straws%26quot;? People made the choice to go into debt.
Health care costs - I have a solution - yes, nationalized care. But those of us who are healthy and in shape will NOT PAY A DIME FOR IT. We will get it totally free, NO TAX or RATES PAID. And as people become healthier, they will pay less and less for government health care. This would be achieved through a yearly checkup for everyone - if you skip the checkup, you pay the fullest rate for health care. Talk about incentive - you%26#039;ll see people get in shape in a hot second...
Food prices will rise, like everything else, when gas prices rise. Anyway, adjusted for inflation, gas and food and everything else is pretty cheap compared to 20 and 30 years ago.
Outsourcing of jobs can be remedied by cutting corporate taxes.
