Just reading newspaper bout couple who now live apart to PONCE/STEAL more money out the social.

She is manic depressive and he is now getting a job as train driver for 鎷?2000 pa although he was too sick to work with a back problem (so his back wont hurt cos he%26#039;s earning more as a train driver than it would have hurt if he was a shelf stacker?)

Apparently he wont get much in tax credits whatever that means.

I really hope that the DSS will look into this, because it used to be that if they could prove that you only split for financial gain it could affect your entitlement.

I used to be a single parent of 4 kids with an abusive, mentally ill ex husband, I didnt FIDDLE the system for my own gain...

My 19 year old sister get%26#039;s 鎷?40 per week plus her rent paid. She is single with %26quot;mental health problems%26quot; (sorry if I sound cynical, but I know her, she%26#039;s my sister and whilst she is ill to an extent, she%26#039;s not so ill that she can%26#039;t get off her backside and get a job). She sits on her bum all day and spends her nights out boozing with her friends. Absolutely does my head in. 鎷?40 per week for a single teenager!!!!!

Alot of it goes on, they seem to be tightening the system down but i suppose any system will always have loopholes!

I actually know of 2 familys of 3 generations each that have never ever worked!

if they are working they wont get DSS and earning high wages wont qualify for tax credits - I know how you feel, it is worse for the single working person - I earn 鎷?75 per week and pay 鎷?00 per week rent and council tax and I get 鎷? per week tax credits, that only entitles me to free dental treatment. I would be better off not working.

People on a low income are in a worse situation than being on benefits. They do get help, but kept on the same level as benefits. They can%26#039;t do overtime so they can keep ahead with bills, as it gets snatched off them. I am disgusted that the system allows people to be better not working, (and boy, do they the system) and money is just dished out when they have yet another child.

It is a sorry state when you are sometimes forced to fiddle the system just to keep warm so you can afford at least one decent pair of shoes, and a coat as yours is threadbare. that isn%26#039;t excactly financial gain is it?

Just to reply to you again, surely if people WORK they should enjoy their money! It%26#039;s not fair to people who do get out of bed and do a day%26#039;s work (or have 2 or 3 jobs) to live in poverty. I am a very good bargain hunter, and have sat with a quilt wrapped round me with hot water bottles because I couldn%26#039;t afford to have the heating on. Does that satisfy you?

Oh, and I have never smoked in my life!
