Me and my partner together 17yrs both work have 2 kids not married legally, so we are common law.
We seperate he dies suddenly Im executor of the estate also next of kin.
Im not entitled to a widows pension from the british goverment.
I have 2 kids to raise his and mine arent I entitled to something towards this.
He worked since 16 till he died at 40 paid N.I. so as he wont be here to get a retirement pension where has the contributions went?
Who is benefitting from them cause it aint us?
Refugee%26#039;s from all countries arive in britain ( no disrespect to them) they get all sorts of benefits have never worked here but are entitled to benefits?
So why dnt I get anything for the kids except my family allowance
which everyone gets.
I work 2 jobs to be entitled to working tax credits so where is the justice?
Where has his contributions went i.e. national insurance contributions?
I%26#039;m sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately the benefit system means that you have to be legally paired to be entitled to a benefits when a partner dies. This is to prevent unconnected people from claiming.
There isn%26#039;t an answer that will make you feel that this is justified.
I hope your children can provide you with the strength to get through this difficult time.
