Me and my partner have just found out im pregnant with my second child, and my first is only 4 months....and yes was using protection. I dont believe in abortions, so we are keeping the baby. I am also badly in debt and cannot keep paying as i got this debt through being on maternity leave. Im also going back to work part time as we cant afford childcare even with tax credits. My family cant help to look after my son. Each month we are down around 鎷?00. I badly need help

You need to write to your creditors and explain your situation. Make a list of all your income and outgoings, without including the debts, and then from the remainder, split it between all the people you owe money to and offer them this amount per week or month. Most of the lenders will accept it. Most of them will also stop the interest too.

There are other ways you can cut down on expenses too. Make sure you have the best fuel suppliers, insurance companies etc, and check out frugal tips online about feeding your family for less. Try an envelope budgeting system.

Also consider becoming a childminder where you can stop at home with your child while earning money.

OH dear, you need more than that. You and your partner need to find better jobs. Arrange a payment plan with your creditors, and enjoy being a mother of 2.

EDIT - this woman is clearly in the UK, she mentions her income in POUNDS, so why are people telling her about the American welfare system? She can%26#039;t claim welfare in the USA! She can claim Maternity benefit and Income Support in the UK, and like all of us, she will get free health care anyway! She will also get her housing costs paid, as does everyone in the UK who is temporarily out of work or unable to work, or getting a low wage.

you should try and get to a CAB. They can help you with your debt. They do an incoming and outgoing list with you, they can also contact the companies you owe money to and get them to reduce the amounts.They can do a huge amount for you, give them a try. you wont like to hear this,but you will need to lose the internet,your sky tv, if you have it,even the house phone,as you can always have a pay as you go,this alone would save you a lot on your outgoing,and tear up your credit cards,or you will never recover with the high interest that they charge

I can%26#039;t add to the really good advice you%26#039;ve already been given, except to say that I brought up 2 children on my own and worked full time. Unfortunately for me this was before the advent of tax credits. The kids are now in their 20s and I%26#039;m very proud of them. I now have a little to spare. You have each other and as long as you%26#039;re there for one another and support each other, you%26#039;ll get there. Go to the CAB and take their advice. It probably won%26#039;t be easy; you%26#039;ll have to cut back on ALL except essentials but you can do it. Good luck.

Start by going into CAB they will beable to advise you about your money. sit down with your partner and look where you can cut back. You cannot carry on spending full time wages with part time work, the second child will not cost as much as the first one did. Most of the clothes you can pass down unless the baby is a girl

I grew up the second oldest of four GIRLS (all within one or two years of eachother). I am twenty now but while we were young both of my parents worked at grocery stores until about fifth grade! GROCERY STORES! We never had cable, we ate macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, and tons of spagetti but guess what? We have always been such a happy, great, amazing family. My parents did the very best that they could with what they had. And even though we were poor and probably in debt - they hid it from us very well. I am not sure that it will all be solved quickly, as it took a long time for our family to bring in a great income, (my parent%26#039;s are doing extremely well since about ten years ago!) But you don%26#039;t NEED Welfare. As I said, we didn%26#039;t eat gourmet meals, we ate cheap. But we were happy. We had holes in some of our walls and a shi**y playground, but we were happy. We had no cable, obviously no internet, and we weren%26#039;t allowed to use the phone often. But we were happy. We believed in eachother, and in ourselves. If you do the same, you will be perfectly fine. It%26#039;s okay to %26quot;just get by%26quot; but don%26#039;t give up. You will be an amazing mother, again. GOOD LUCK!

Well I have not read the whole story. Yet I think you got big debt . can one of you file for bankcruptcy while the other dont. That way you get rid of the debt for a while. However, the one declaring bankcruptcy will have trouble with financial issues for a long time...

talk to cccs theyl sort your finances out for u. pay top priority bills first likr rent, council tal. check out entitled to. its not all bad trust me ive been there and ended up going bankrupt and am now private renting recieving housing benefit and tax credits etc and only have a few debts like a budgeting loan etc
