I am a single parent working full time getting tax credits for her but I would be moving to spain so wouldnt be earning any money. Would my mum be entitled to claim any benefits for my daughter if she lived with her?
As a pensioner would my mum get any financial help if she looked after my daughter doing her A levels?
If your parents become the main carers for the child you must stop any claim you have for your child/children by calling the helpline then your parents can add the child/children to their existing claim or they will have send in a application stating the date of responsibility for the child. This date must compile with the date you inform the Tax Credits helpline your are no longer responsible for the child. Therefore if you are not responsible from the 5th Jan they must state the 6th of Jan or the application will be suspended and will take several weeks for the Tax Credit Office to contact yourself and override the system, when this happens it is know as a Verification Failure.
For them to claim CTC your child must be under 20 years old if over 16 be in Full time Non Advance education A levels etc, your parents must not be subject to immagration control and be U.K nationals, there household income must not exceed 鎷?5k.

She would be entitled to Child Tax Credits and Child Benefit instead of you if your daughter was living with her. Your daughter may also be entitled to an Educational Maintenance Allowance. Best idea is for her to contact Connexions. Her school may also have information.
