OK I agree to a carbon emissions tax?

Will I get a credit for every new tree I plant in my yard? Should it not work both ways?

OK I agree to a carbon emissions tax?

Somehow, I don%26#039;t think you are exactly %26quot;on board%26quot; with the program here.

A tax is a tax. Whatever words people add to the amount to justify it ... is sort of after the fact and not really pertinent.

Put more tax on gasoline, and more roads will get built.

And most politicians never met a tax they didn%26#039;t like.

What is the purpose of a tax? It is to collect money. If you want to see prices skyrocket, then support the tax.

Prices will increase because of the following:

(1) There will be a tax on gasoline and diesel fuels that will cause prices to increase.

(2) Steel, aluminum, nickel, and other metals use carbon blocks (aluminum uses the Hall-H鑼卹oult process) to make the metal from the ore to pure metal. Not only could it stop manufacturing in the US, but the prices would increase significantly. So, everything with metal could increase by 20%.

Yes, in theory, if you plant trees in your yard, you should get a credit. But the number of trees you plant would need to cover several acres to make-up for your usage.

My friend, if you look at the history of taxing and spending of government, you will see that there is a pattern of not spending the money where it is designed to be. I can almost promise you that if government collects revenue from a carbon tax, the money will go to the general fund and be spent. In addition, a recession will begin. If you recall, in 1993, Clinton supported the carbon-emissions tax, but it failed. Fortunately, he presided over a significant economic boom. It may not have happened if he had this tax implemented.

You%26#039;ll probably get an oxygen-generation tax...

Seriously, IMHO, the carbon emission tax is just another way to rip folks off while the big shots do what they want to do. Look at Al Gore himself. The %26quot;inconvenient truth%26quot; is that his mansion is twice as environmentally unfriendly as the average joe taxpayer, yet he can lecture the public on excesses.
